Finding the best guns in Battlefield 2042 is more than you think, despite the fact that there are few weapons available to players at the beginning.

Battlefield 2042 Best Assault Rifle

Battlefield 2042 Best Assault Rifle

However, there are some major gameplay differences depending on the weapon you choose in Battlefield 2042.

Best Dm7 Battlefield 2042 Class Setup: Attachments, Gear, Specialists, More

One gun can give you good control and less damage, for example, while another can defeat an enemy in one shot, but it has a lot of recoil and many weapons spill when looking for sights.

On this page, we will present the best weapons in Battlefield 2042, divided into the categories of machine guns, machine guns, rifles, LMGs, SMGs and machine guns.

First, it is important to start this guide with some important information. The characters of Battlefield 2042 are called Specialists, and there are quite a few of them in the game, each of them gives their own special skills and actions. Although they have skills, accept to play the type of medicine, attack, defense, etc., each Specialist can prepare any weapon in the game, allowing for many changes.

Also, you can already see that there are 'loadouts' by "type" in Battlefield 2042. When choosing a specialist at the beginning of the game, you have four options to choose from: type of attack, type of health, type of engineering. , in Sniper mode. You can customize these loads on the main page of Battlefield 2042, change weapons, tools and anything else you want.

Battlefield 2042 Weapons List So Far

It is really possible to change free weapons even when you choose your loadout "type" in a game of Battlefield 2042. It may seem like a lot to wrap your head around at first, but once you choose your Specialist and loadout. mode, you can change your weapon without doing anything on the job input screen. It can be done both at the beginning of the game, and whenever you bite the dust afterwards.

Knowing this is good for changes in Battlefield 2042, because it means you don't want to change your entire loadout every time you want to change the game. If you're a medic who likes to run around the battlefield, choose an SMG or a shotgun, but if you'd rather sit back and take out attackers, you can switch to gun or gun without changing all your gear. .

As these things arise in the release, there are a few favorite weapons among the 2042 Battlefield games. The current 2042 battle is dominated by pistols and SMGs, for one reason; he is quick to escape.

Battlefield 2042 Best Assault Rifle

Guns and the speed of fire almost always win the situation in Battlefield 2042, as if you use bullets to hit someone when they are trying to shoot the sight of a sniper rifle, you will lose their purpose. .

Firearms Expert Reacts To Battlefield 2042's Guns

The special PP-29 SMG, thanks to the speed of fire and stability of control, is popular nowadays - but the AK-24 also sees a lot of use thanks to its high power characteristics.

There are also some disappointing weapons in Battlefield 2042, such as guns, which unfortunately don't have much value in games that usually specialize in mid to long range.

In fact, there is nothing much in this race between assault rifles in Battlefield 2042. The M5A3 is a strong choice at the beginning, but the AK-24 is the only outlier with a lighter and wider, the other is a good choice for. . Many 2042 Battlefield players now.

Only the AK-24 requires you to reach player level 11 to unlock it, so almost every player uses it. and Battlefield 2042's Conquest and Breakthrough modes. In addition, it features the same light, light, and full auto mode, which means that you can turn it into a well-displayed gun from the range, if you have the right space.

The Best Weapons In Battlefield 2042

If you are looking to improve the AK-24's stats, restore it to the accuracy and usability of the M5A3, then you will need to open and remove the weapon from the LWG Grip. , and the ARCOM Tactical Muzzle Brake, each of which can be unlocked using an AK-24 that kills 60 in all modes.

You will use this weapon to kill a lot in War 2042. At the beginning of the week of War 2042, hell most of the players choose PP-29 in close range, for the simple reason of this. it works in almost any situation.

The PP-29 lacks control when compared to the standard PBX-45 SMG, it is more accurate and accurate. The PP-29 is a very fast and close-range weapon, good for attacking or defending the various units and winning in Breakthrough, but if you can open a suitable slot for the weapon, it will be good if shooting in the middle. general.

Battlefield 2042 Best Assault Rifle

Currently, Battlefield 2042 offers players two LMG weapons to win: LCMG, and PKP-BP. You will not unlock the last of the two weapons until you reach level 32, but that is good, since the LCMG has been unlocked since the beginning of Battlefield 2042, and it is really the best weapon.

Best Weapon Loadouts

Obviously, LCMG is best used if you don't want to scare players from at least mid range. Just getting the assassin's hand and weapon will unlock good information for the LMG, so you don't have to spend a lot of time building the assassin and the weapon to unlock, there are some of the best things in between.

It's hard to fault LCMG in any form, especially when compared to its high profile. The weapon is strong, with good accuracy and range, and is not equipped with a special charge. As long as you don't press trigger too long on the remote, LCMG can do it all.

There are also good options that can be unlocked for LCMG if you want to give any of its features a significant upgrade. For example, getting 90 kills on the LMG will open the Rattlesnake Grip option for the ground, good for improving the accuracy and visibility of the weapon, while the Warhawk Compensator gives a good boost to improve the control of the number of kills.

The DM7 is a fairly reliable rifle in Battlefield 2042 and Dawn, but the SVK packs a powerful punch. The DM7 has more control or less power loss, the SVK trades in control and a little more precision for more power, making the market a good one.

Best Battlefield 2042 Weapons

With the SVK, you get one kill if you can hit an enemy directly in the head, and it takes two shots to kill multiple enemies in any body, except if they armed or not. plate.

Yes, the SVK provides control and precision for this power, but not enough to make the weapon stronger. While the DM7 takes time to kill another player (which gives him time to run behind cover and see him), the SVK has enough stopping power and engine speed to rescue the enemy and Faster.

It also helps that SVK automatically deploys in a wider view, perfect for dealing with enemies who are turning to defend points in ways like Victory and Breakthrough. If you want to strengthen the control and accuracy of the weapon, you can unlock and equip the Tactical Compensator, which can be unlocked by getting a total of 120 kills per gun.

Battlefield 2042 Best Assault Rifle

The DXR-1 is like a complete train. This gun is the second one you will open in Battlefield 2042, and compared to the previous SWS-10, it has higher firepower, accuracy, range and range. Although it does not compare to the firepower of the NWT-50, which can tear through brick walls or tank armor, it is the best of both worlds.

Battlefield 2042 Season 2: Master Of Arms Release Date, New Map, More Weapons Revealed

That's something the DXR-1 lacks, however. It has the ability to take out an enemy with one shot on the body if it takes even a small wound without armor, and it has the accuracy and high altitude to place it in order to find a place better to see victory or win prizes, and select players easily.

Hitting the battlefield has never been easier, and bullets fall far and wide. With the difficulty of hitting working against you, the DXR-1 will allow you to succeed when trying to take out enemies at close range, making it a great shooter for its target audience. each over 24 games.

battle tanks global assault

Battle Tanks Global Assault - ": Global Assault" is the second game in the series, developed and published by 3DO. It was released for the Nintendo 64 on August 31, 1999. A PlayStation port was later released on February 29, 2000.

The sequel game expanded the series significantly. Several new tanks have been added, as well as some powerups and new game modes. New gangs make their appearance, some returning from the previous game. The number of playable maps has also increased, now including locations in Europe.

The year is 2006, five years after the X-2 virus brought about the apocalypse. Griffin Spade managed to rescue his wife Madison from the clutches of several gangs across the United States. Two now rule the city of San Francisco, and Madison is its queen. They also have a son, Brandon, who is unusually intelligent and active for his age. Together, they hope to rebuild civilization among the ruins.

Battletanx Battletanx Global Assault

Lately, however, Griffin has been having nightmares about a Queenlord he's sure he's seen before. His instincts show that this is much more than a nightmare and that his family may now be in danger. Soon, he uncovers the truth of a threat greater than any he has faced before.

Global Assault is similar to its predecessor. The player(s) choose from a total of 12 different gangs to play as, each with different tanks and starting powerups. They compete against computer controlled armies or other players in a variety of game types.

The Global Assault campaign is split into 18 separate missions (plus one secret mission). As in the previous game, many of the objectives include defending specific objectives, destroying all enemies on the map, or successfully crossing a bridge. There are also now objectives such as destroying specific enemies or structures and escorting convoys to their destination.

Instead of gaining a certain amount of lives during the game, you can now choose your tanks by spending tank bucks. These can be found throughout the campaign and are also awarded for every 10,000 points you score. Each tank costs a certain amount of tank bucks, and if you can't afford any, it's game over. Not all tanks are available immediately and some are only available in multiplayer.

Global Assault also lets you play the campaign with a friend (but only 1 more). It works pretty much like single player, the main difference being that all tank bucks are shared.

Global Assault adds four new multiplayer game modes to the mix, though it leaves behind its destruction mode predecessor. The available game modes are listed below…

Battlefield 2042 Assault Rifles - Battlefield 2042 is finally here and it's time to unleash the explosive action that has long defined this franchise. Set in the not-so-distant future, players can battle across massive maps ravaged by superstorms. But all of that is set dressing – what really matters is the intense group-based multiplayer experience wrapped in utter mayhem.

Similar to previous entries, there is a healthy suite of weapons that players can unlock and use to kill their enemies. There are 22 weapons in total - most of which won't be available when you first load the game. Here's a guide on every gun in the game and which one I recommend you practice.

Battlefield 2042 Assault Rifles

Battlefield 2042 Assault Rifles

When it comes to base mode, you have to unlock weapons simply by gaining experience and leveling up your account. As you level up, more weapons will be available for your use. You can see the level required to unlock a weapon in the collection's weapon menu. There are no additional challenges or objectives you need to complete to unlock specific weapons. Just focus on gaining experience by completing games and doing well in those games.

Battlefield 2042 M5a3 Gun Guide

If you're just starting out, I recommend playing Breakthrough over Conquest. Not only is it a faster mode, but you'll also be constantly thrust into the action. This allows you to spend less downtime roaming the large maps and more time killing enemies, playing the objective and supporting the team. All of these give you connections and experience towards your level. It will take some time to unlock each gun, so don't feel like you have to rush. Also consider all weapons

The situation is a little different in the danger zone. Although you'll still have to unlock the weapons normally through experience, they won't be available for use right away. Similar games like

, you must pay for weapons before entering the game. Your job is to mine units, which gives you dark market credits, which you can use to buy weapons, gadgets, and other items.

Also, there is a free M5A3 you can use, but it comes with zero accessories and cosmetics. But if you want your own version of the M5A3, there is one that costs around 100 Dark Market credits. This purchase will give you the accessories you have for the gun. So if you don't plan to use the free weapon, be prepared to spend some money if you want to use your favorite weapon.

However, it should be noted that you are only allowed to mow as long as the leaves are no longer than four inches.

Let's take it a step further and do exactly what you need to take your cross stitch with you on your travels.

Scissors On Airplane

There are two things to think about here, the needles and the scissors. You can take both on a flight, as long as you prepare for it.

Thinking Obliquely' Tells Story Of Nasa's Scissors Wing Airplane

The best method here is to buy something like the John James Pebble, which is obvious, so that the TSA agents can see, they are attached, and they remain that they are embroidery pins (this is rarely asked, but it helps to show it) . Limit the amount you bring, you are not bringing an arsenal and they will probably look at you strangely if you have 100 needles.

I will add a caveat there, that sometimes needles can be confiscated if there is a high risk. If this is the case, all airports have sewing kits, which can be had for $2-3, and include a needle (oh, the irony). In some cases, these are even embroidery needles. Just be careful with the point.

The scissor should be less than 4 inches from the pivot point. Any sharp objects in checked bags must be sealed or securely wrapped to prevent injury to baggage handlers and inspectors.

What you are looking for is a scissor that is less than 1 inch from the pivot, and rounded with a 1/1 curve and no larger than 4 inches overall. However, I didn't find a pair like this in my research, but they didn't seem like very useful cross stitch tools.

Travel Scissors Miniature Snips Great For

However, there are safe alternatives. In fact, these options are not only safe to travel with, but also easy to use.

We actually wrote a whole post about cross stitch micro scissors and why you want to use them if you're not traveling too (they're super easy to use), but they're perfect for traveling in general. the thing is about 2 inches. They are specially made for needlework, and are also cheap to pick up.

Another option is thread cutters, little things with hidden blades that you can't pull out and just enough to reach the thread.

Scissors On Airplane

Currently you can choose from two different types, the DMC Thread Cutter Pendant (which some airlines may question because it's all metal), or the Thread Cutterz Ring. I've used both and I highly recommend the ring as it's easier to get a clean cut and fits your finger so you don't lose it.

Embroidery Scissors Sewing Scissors Thread Snips Small

Now that you have everything ready, place the needles and scissors (if you have them) in a clear bag and treat them like liquids.

Finally, I would suggest in all cases that you should call the airline before boarding them and NOT hide it. Also, as a tip, use a shorter string length than usual, you don't have much space on a plane.

Scrappy Airplane - We like to present hacks that are inexpensive and accessible to the average person, but every now and then it's fun to dream about projects we'll tackle when we're all grown up and rich. [Mike Payte] seems to fall quite comfortably into the latter category, but luckily he hasn't lost that "excited kid with big plans" spirit. A talented and experienced experimental aircraft builder, he is currently working on the Scrappy, a small bush plane designed as a short takeoff and landing drag racer.

The Scrappy started life as the Carbon Cub, a modern kit version of the venerable Piper Super Cub. Only part of the fuselage frame remains from the original plan, the rest is almost all custom. The engine is a 780 cubic inch (13 liter) horizontally opposed 8-cylinder, taken from one of [Mike]'s racing planes, and required extensive structural changes to the fuselage to fit. The paddle-like propeller was intended for airboats, and is designed for high thrust at low speeds. The skin of the aircraft is all carbon fiber and the suspension almost looks like it was borrowed from an off-road racing truck. [Mike] also added (and canceled testing) a ballistic recovery parachute. The cockpit instrumentation is also over-the-top for such an aircraft, with seven multi-function Garmin displays.

Scrappy is still missing his wings, which will also be heavily modified. From the oil cooling system to the door latches and gust-locks for the stick, everything was designed and built by [Mike]. We're enjoying the in-depth build video that shows how he tackles all the little challenges that come with such an ambitious project.

[Mike] made a name for himself with his previous monster bush plane Draco, which was unfortunately destroyed last year during a bad takeoff. Luckily no one was hurt in the accident, and Draco became a partial donor for Scrappy. If budget planes are more your style, check out [Peter Shripol's] latest electric microlight.

parts of an aircraft

Parts Of An Aircraft - Airplanes have been around for nearly a century, and their best-known role in the history of aviation was as military transport. Over the years, however, air travel has become more than just a means of transporting people and machines from one place to another. Air travel is an opportunity for adventure, discovery and enjoyment.

Whether you love airplanes or are just curious, airplanes are an interesting subject that requires a little understanding of how they work before you actually get into them.

Parts Of An Aircraft

Parts Of An Aircraft

This article provides an overview of the five main parts of an airplane and their functions to help you better understand how they work.

Plane Parts Illustration Hi Res Stock Photography And Images

The engine is the heart of an airplane and the source of power that makes it fly. The engine used in most airplanes is a piston engine, a type of internal combustion engine. That is, it burns fuel in a closed combustion chamber to create pressure and heat, which then drives a piston that pushes air through a fan at high speed.

The engine is usually located at the front of the aircraft and is driven by a series of pistons connected to a crankshaft that rotates and rotates inside the engine housing.

Cylinders within this cylinder bank inject air into the combustion chamber, and each cylinder is surrounded by a piston. The heat generated by these rods vaporizes and ignites the fuel, providing explosive energy for the plane.

A turbine in the center of the engine creates axial force that is transmitted through the shaft to the propeller blades fixed on either side. These blades then rotate to create thrust, allowing the plane to move through the air.

Parts Of The Aircraft

Most airplanes are powered by jets or turboprops that use different types of engines and each produce between 10 and 100 horsepower. The amount of power an engine produces is determined by the number of cylinders and the number of revolutions per second.

An engine's primary job is to generate power and provide thrust for movement, but it must be well designed to last for a long time without causing major problems such as overheating or leaking oil.

Landing gear is one of the most important parts of an airplane. It keeps the plane on the ground and avoids crashes. Upon landing, the landing gear is lowered so that the wheels are directly at the end of the runway, preventing damage to the aircraft.

Parts Of An Aircraft

Landing gear is a retractable horizontal surface that connects an aircraft to the ground. It is designed to guide the aircraft as it descends. When deflated, it creates more lift for takeoff and landing. The landing gear is mainly made of carbon fiber composite materials and springs to support the weight of the aircraft.

Parts Of An Airplane And Their Functions

The landing gear folds during takeoff and landing, allowing smoother takeoff and landing. When the airplane is in the folded position, it can generate more lift during takeoff and landing by increasing the drag on the wings.

The fuselage is the body of the airplane. A long cylindrical tube containing the engine, passengers, cargo, flight controls, other internal components, and fuel tanks. This includes the cockpit located near the front of the fuselage.

This section provides structural support for the wing and tail section and creates a huge hollow around all three sections. It is very important for aircraft safety because it contains all these essential parts.

The cockpit is also a component of the fuselage and is often confused as a separate part because it can be separated from the rest of the aircraft during takeoff and landing without serious damage. In fact, these compartments must pass certain tests to ensure they are safe in flight before being separated so that passengers do not have to disembark early due to security concerns.

Aircraft Parts Hi Res Stock Photography And Images

The fuselage also serves to carry everyone on the plane (cabin) along with all the luggage and other items needed during the trip.

The wings are connected to the fuselage to support flight. They are attached to the fuselage by a long spar that runs across the two spans of each wing and runs from wing tip to wing tip.

Wings also provide important aerodynamic support for aircraft stability during takeoff and landing by altering their surface to improve lift, reduce drag, provide directional stability, and allow lift to be maintained for a longer period of time than would be possible without a wing in a particular position or configuration. provide. The wing of an airplane is the longest and thickest of all parts.

Parts Of An Aircraft

An airplane's wings are the main way it stays in the air. The wing has several things at once, including ailerons and elevators. Ailerons control the aircraft's roll or left/right turning motion, while elevators control its up/down motion.

Russia To Start Making Bootleg Boeing, Airbus Parts

The empennage is the rear part of the tail assembly of fixed-wing aircraft. It includes horizontal and vertical stabilizers, also known as flight control surfaces. These surfaces keep the aircraft stable during flight and help it slide laterally and vertically.

Also included in this section are other structures such as fairings and wing tips that play an important role in performance and safety. Other components in the empennage of an aircraft include a vertical stabilizer, a rudder (a small yoke-like device that controls the angle of the aircraft's nose), and an elevator (a small yoke that controls how much up or down the pitch the aircraft moves as it moves). and rudder. .

These components give the plane the ability to fly along with the ability to steer in the desired direction.

The five major parts of an airplane are the engine, landing gear, fuselage, wings and empennage. There are many parts in an airplane, but here are 5 of the most important. All of these parts work together to make the plane fly and safely carry people and cargo.

Saratoga Airplane - Jim Jennis lives in Virginia and flies around the East Coast and Midwest. Jim owns a 1979 Cessna 182RG and a Piper Saratoga II TC equipped with the TKS Inadvertent Ice Protection System. He flew TKS equipped aircraft for 10 years.

Ever since I can remember, when I was three years old, all I wanted to do was fly. I left the Boy Scouts when I was 12 to join the Civil Air Patrol and got my pilot's license. I have been flying since 1975, single engine, multi engine and private pilot.

Saratoga Airplane

For the Cessna 182, TKS was the only anti-icing system available. Me and my partner who owns the plane are both instrument pilots. We fly a lot all year round, sometimes in adverse weather conditions. TKS was the only anti-icing system available for the 182. We flew TKS and had such a good experience.

Kathryn's Report: Piper Pa 32r 301 Saratoga Sp, Saratoga Flyers Llc, N185dx: Accident Occurred May 16, 2016 Near Alpine Casparis Municipal Airport (e38), Alpine, Brewster County, Texas

For Saratoga, Piper had other options. You can buy boots for the Piper, but we liked the TKS much better than the boots we got from TKS.

This completely opened up the flight mission from October to April. We fly all year round, but in the past we have had many problems where we have had to completely abandon a mission and go somewhere else on a commercial plane. Or we got somewhere and had to delay departure because of ice. This opens up six to seven months of flights for us.

We are located in the Shenandoah Valley, which lies between two mountain ranges, the Blue Ridge and the Appalachian Mountains. They are not big mountains like in the west, but there is lots and lots of ice. There is a lot of moisture and ice in the Appalachians, especially west of where we live.

In this part of the country, TKS is most useful when you have cloud cover during take-off or landing. We switch on the system before take-off and then fly up through the cloud layer. This will protect against ice. After climbing a few thousand feet, the cloud layer disappears and there is no more ice. Same with instrument approach descent. Icy conditions are possible below the clouds. We turn on the system before the first descent. As we descended through the cloud level for the approach, we saw that the TKS system was working very well.

Piper Aircraft Saratoga Ii Tc Airplane N4164m In Flight Textured Photo Foam Back

In November 2017, we installed the TKS system on the 182RG at your previous installation center in Salina, Kansas. After installing it, we flew back to the east coast. There was a cold front that we had to fly through all the way to Illinois. TKS was the only reason we made it to Illinois. A cold front caught up with us. The next day we were to fly through it from Illinois back to Virginia. It was just amazing what it did for the plane.

We took off in conditions where icing was likely but not known for sure. The TKS was able to handle the ice conditions we encountered. We never had a constant build up of ice or change in elevation every time we had to get out of it. We used the system throughout the trip. This allowed us to escape and fly safely. It was our first and very memorable experience using the TKS system. It made us believers.

What I have always liked about TKS is that it distributes fluid over the wings and provides drag. For example, when I have flown in light twins with boots, ice can form behind the boots. This can cause some problems with the airflow of the wings. With TKS, if you start the system early and get the wings wet, the TKS will keep the wings from icing on the surface more effectively than boots.

Saratoga Airplane

We have used the system on 182RG for 10 years. Looks and functions the same as the day it was put on. The craftsmanship and quality are top notch. If we had boots on the plane, we would be dealing with cracked rubber, possible replacements and thousands of dollars worth of maintenance.

Piper Saratoga Pa 32 301 N8454r

Maintenance was excellent. We support the TKS system according to the user manuals. We changed the filters and once a month we turn on the system to clean the panels. They look like new. All we did was change the filters as per your recommendation. We were very happy with it on both planes.

If you are a serious instrument pilot who wants to be concerned about safety and mission year-round, invest in a TKS. It is indispensable for us. Not everyone flies planes like us. But if you fly like we do year round, I wouldn't fly a plane without TKS.

The Consolidated PBY Catalina was a flying boat and amphibious aircraft produced in the 1930s and 1940s. In Canadian service it was called Canso. It is one of the most widely used submarines of World War II. Catalinas have served in all branches of the US Armed Forces, as well as in the Air Force and Navy of many other countries. The last military PSGs served until the 1980s. As of 2021, 86 years after its first flight, the aircraft is still flying as a water bomber (or air tanker) for firefighting operations in some parts of the world. There is no military service.

Designed as a patrol bomber, the PBY is a long-range operational aircraft designed to detect and attack AMI transports at sea to disrupt AMI supply lines. In the 1930s, anticipating a potential conflict in the Pacific that would require resupply, the US Navy invested millions of dollars in developing long-range flying boats for this purpose. Flying boats had the advantage of not needing a runway and being able to use the Tyrrhenian Sea.

Consolidated Pby Catalina Color Photographs Part 1

In the 1930s, as American dominance in the Pacific began to challenge Japan, the US Navy contracted Consolidated, Martin and Douglas in October 1933 to develop a competitive design for patrol flying boats.

Naval doctrine of the 1930s and 1940s used flying boats in a variety of roles, and today they are operated by many special-purpose aircraft. The US Navy used the Consolidated P2Y and Martin P3M for this role in 1931, but both aircraft were underpowered and hampered by insufficient range and limited payload.

Both Consolidated and Douglas delivered one prototype of their new model, the XP3Y-1 and XP3D-1. Consolidated's XP3Y-1 is an evolution of the XPY-1 design that failed in the P3M contract two years ago and the XP2Y design that the Navy approved for limited production. Although the Douglas aircraft was a good design, the cost per plane was only $90,000, so the Navy chose Consolidated.

Consolidated's XP3Y-1 (company model 28) had parachute wings with outboard struts mounted on struts above the fuselage. The wing tip stabilization floats were retractable in flight and were licensed by Saunders-Roe. The two-stage rudder design was similar to that of the P2Y, but the 28 had a cantilevered cruciform tail instead of a braced twin tail. Pure aerodynamics gave the Model 28 better performance than its predecessors. The structure is made entirely of sheet metal and aluminum, except for the wings and wing edges, which are covered with fabric.

This Flying Boat Helped Win World War Ii At Sea

The prototype was powered by two 825 hp (615 kW) Pratt & Whitney R-1830-54 Twin Wasp radial engines mounted on the leading edge of the wing. Armament consisted of a 4.30 in (7.6 mm) Browning AN/M2 machine gun and 2,000 lb (910 kg) bombs.

After that, it was transferred to the US Navy for testing. The XP3Y-1 represents a significant performance improvement over previous patrol flying boats. The Navy requested further development of the aircraft to be classified as a patrol bomber, and in October 1935 the prototype was assembled for further work, which included the installation of a 900 hp (670 kW) R-1830-64 grinder. For the updated XPBY-1, Consolidated redesigned the vertical tail surface, which solved the problem of the tail sinking during takeoff, making it impossible to take off in some cases. XPBY-1 made its first flight on May 19, 1936, setting a record for a continuous flight of 3,443 miles (2,992 nmi; 5,541 km).

XPBY-1 was delivered to VP-11F in October 1936. The second squadron was VP-12, which received its first aircraft in early 1937. A second production order was issued on July 25, 1936. Over three years, the design was gradually developed and successive models were introduced.

Pby Aircraft

The aircraft was named Catalina after Santa Catalina Island, California; In November 1941, Britain ordered its first 30 aircraft, hence the name.

Pby Catalina History

The Naval Aircraft Factory made significant changes to the PBY design, many of which would have greatly hindered supply if integrated into a single production line.

Officially known as the PBN-1 Nomad, the new aircraft had several differences from the original PBY. The most obvious revisions include a sharpened bow, lengthened by two elbows, and a larger, reshaped tail. Other improvements included a larger fuel tank, a 50% increase in range, and strengthened wings, which allowed for a 2,000 lb (908 kg) increase in gross takeoff weight. An auxiliary power unit with an improved electrical system was installed and the weapon was updated with a continuous feed mechanism.

After the NAF transferred ownership of the ZEBRA project (1944-1945), 138 of the 156 PBN-1s produced were in service with the Soviet Navy.

The remaining 18 were assigned to training units at NAS Whidbey Island and Naval Air Station Newport, Rhode Island.

Ain Blog: 'first Thing We Do, Let's Kill All The Lawyers'

The designation "PBY" is defined in accordance with the 1922 United States Naval Aircraft Designation System; PB is the code for the "patrol bomber" integrated aircraft, and Y for the manufacturer. Catalinas built by other manufacturers for the US Navy were designated by different manufacturer codes, so examples produced by Vickers Canada were designated PBV, examples by Boeing Canada were designated PB2B (already Boeing PBB), and Navy Aircraft Factory examples were designated PBN. The Royal Canadian Air Force examples were named Canso, a town of that name in Nova Scotia, following the modern British practice of naming seaplanes after coastal port towns.

The US Army Air Forces and later the US Air Force used the designation OA-10. US Navy Catalinas used in night operations against the Japanese in the Pacific were painted all black; As a result, these aircraft were sometimes called "Black Cats".

During World War II, the PBY was used for anti-submarine warfare, patrol bombing, convoy escort, search and rescue (especially air-sea rescue), and cargo transport.

Pby Aircraft

This type operated in almost all theaters during World War II. Catalina played a prominent and invaluable role in the war against Japan.

Review Of Consolidated Pby 5a Catalina

While these patrol aircraft served as ground patrol bombers, the long-range Consolidated LB-30 and Consolidated Coronado were deployed to augment the all-important logistical tactical airlift capability in the vast Pacific theater. This pair allowed the Catalina to operate as a fleet eye at greater distances than the hovercraft scouts.

The Navy acquired several different flying boats, but the PBY was the most widely used and produced.

Although slow and clumsy, the Allies used the Catalina in a variety of roles for which the aircraft was never intended. PBYs are remembered for their rescue missions that saved the lives of hundreds of sunken airmen. Catalina Airum calls its aircraft "Cat" for combat missions and "Dumbo" for air-sea rescue operations.

The Catalina gave the US Navy the first "air-to-air kill" score against a Japanese aircraft in the Pacific War. On December 10, 1941, the Japanese attacked the Cavite naval base in the Philippines. Many American ships and submarines were destroyed by bombs and shrapnel. While flying to safety during the raid on Cavite, Lt. Harmon T. Utter's PBY was attacked by three Japanese Mitsubishi A6M2 Type 0 carriers. Utter's archer, Chief Boatswain Earl D. Payne, shot one down, the first US Navy kill. As commander, Utter organized the air raid that later resulted in the destruction of the Japanese battleship Yamato.

The World's Oldest Flying Pby Catalina

Catalina was one of the first US attacks against the Japanese. On 27 December 1941, six Catalinas of the 101st Patrol Squadron bombed a Japanese U-boat off Jolo Island against heavy fighter resistance, losing four Catalinas.

The Catalina was the most widely used anti-submarine warfare (ASW) aircraft in the Atlantic and Pacific theaters during World War II, flying from the Seychelles and Ceylon in the Indian Ocean. His duty was to accompany the convoy to Murmansk. By 1943 the U-boats were well equipped with anti-aircraft guns, and two Victoria Cross Catalina pilots successfully attacked a U-boat under heavy fire: RAF Flying Officer John Cruikshank was killed in the sinking of U-347 in 1944 (but the submarine is now U-361 called

) and Royal Canadian Air Force Lieutenant David Hornell (posthumously) against U-1225 in the same year. Catalina destroyed 40 ships but had no losses of her own. On July 31, 1943, Catalina attacked and sank U-199 in Brazilian waters. The ship was later christened "Arara" in memory of the merchant ship.

It's time for Kate Fons, an aspiring flight attendant aboard PSA Flight 182 to San Diego, to start dreaming of future trips to exotic destinations.

Victims Identified After Small Plane That Departed From Orange County Crashed In San Diego

It's time for Vernon Franck, Seabee, to start another routine day at Naval Amphibious Base Coronado.

There was still time to prevent what became one of San Diego's most burning tragedies and the worst plane crash in US history to date.

There wasn't much time though. In less than two minutes, at 9:01:47 AM, the PSA 182 and the Cessna will collide in mid-air, 2,600 feet above North Park.

The impact tore apart the smaller aircraft and damaged the jet's right wing. Both planes fell out of the sky, crashing into residential streets, littering residences, cars and sidewalks with aircraft parts, corpses and flames, destroying or damaging 22 homes.

Pilot In San Diego Plane Crash Repeatedly Told To 'climb Immediately'

There would be 144 dead: seven San Diegans on the ground, two Cessna passengers, and 135 aboard the jet.

"It was awful," said Verna Huger, 85, who opened the front door to see a neighboring house in flames, smoke and ash choking the sky. "That was awful."

Tuesday will mark the 40th anniversary of the PSA crash. For most San Diegan residents, this is ancient history, as more than half of the county's current population was born after this date. However, for those who were there, the memories are still vivid.

San Diego Airplane Crash

"I spent 30 years in the Naval Reserve and was deployed to the Persian Gulf four times," said Dr. Jerry Wisniew, who worked at the temporary mortuary set up that day in St. Augustine. "I've seen a lot of injuries, but nothing like what I saw in a plane crash."

El Cajon Airplane Crash: No Survivors After Small Jet Crashes Near San Diego

The disaster cast a long shadow. The manslaughter lawsuits tied up local courts for months as bereaved relatives sued the federal government, Pacific Southwest Airlines and Gibbs Flying Service, the local flight school that operated the ill-fated Cessna and employed Kazy.

And the crash permanently changed aviation in San Diego. The dogged investigator fought for major revisions to the official report of the National Transportation Safety Board, leading to the introduction of new rules to regulate flight operations here.

In the flight footage of the doomed jet, keys are exchanged in the cockpit about half a minute before impact.

In fact, they quickly got off the plane. The initial NTSB report focused on PSA's failure to track down the Cessna. It was a serious mistake, agreed Stephen K. Cusick, who was a naval aviator before becoming a flight safety expert and lead author of the Commercial Aviation Safety textbook.

Pilot, 46, Dies Of Injuries In Commuter Plane Crash At Montgomery Field

"People think it's binary, you either crash or you land safely and that's it," Cusick said. "But it's not like that. It's every flight, every flight where the pilot has to use every means to mitigate safety issues, that is to close every hole in Swiss cheese."

The Swiss Cheese accident avoidance theory, popularized by the British psychologist James Reason, argues that every person and system is fallible. Disaster can be avoided by recognizing inherent weaknesses and compensating for them by sealing the "holes" in the "Swiss cheese".

Catastrophic failures occur when holes in multiple layers overlap. That's what happened in San Diego 40 years ago, said Cusick, a student of this accident.

San Diego Airplane Crash

PSA 182 was established as the first flight from Sacramento to Los Angeles, then continued from Los Angeles. to San Diego. That fall morning, the Santa Ana winds blew away the usual sea layer. It might have been the first piece of Swiss cheese: the glow in the cloudless sky obscured visibility.

Psa Crash At 40: A Page Of San Diego History 'written In Blood'

Another fun fact: air traffic controllers emphasized the look-and-avoid principle, whereby pilots visually track other planes and maintain a safe distance. Whatever the people in the PSA cockpit thought they saw, it wasn't a Cessna safely passing the jet.

Another fun fact: Nineteen seconds before the impact, an alarm sounded at the San Diego Approach Control Center at Naval Air Station Miramar as the letters "CA" appeared on the instrument panel, meaning "Conflict Alert." The alarm was automatically triggered by radar showing the flight paths of the PSA 182 and the approaching Cessna.

However, no aircraft were alerted. The system had become operational just seven weeks earlier and was already averaging 13 conflict alerts a day, and in each case the pilots took action to avoid a disaster without any pressure from the control tower.

Another interesting fact: Cessna, for unknown reasons, deviated from the approved course, turning into the path of the descending PSA 182.

Plane Crashes Off Runway At Nas North Island

Was it "You think this is happening to our right" or "You think this is happening to our right"? The former would indicate that the aircraft may have seen a smaller aircraft.

"PSA said it saw the plane, after which the controller relaxed and was no longer concerned," Cusick said. “There are a lot of blind spots – you see something for a while and then you lose sight of it. And Cessna couldn't see because PSA was going down on it."

More stacked slices: The Cessna was yellow, hard to see when looking down at rooftops and roads; PSA may have mistaken another small plane for a Cessna; The PSA crew was getting ready to land, busy time on board the plane.

San Diego Airplane Crash

"Lindbergh Field is a dangerous airport anyway." Kusick said. “You have a very steep slope leading down the hill. It's very cramped."

El Cajon Plane Crash: Learjet In San Diego Area Crash Had 4 Passengers

Four seconds after the collision, the men in the cockpit can be heard realizing that a tragic mistake has been made.

There would be no heroic deeds of Captain Chesley "Sully" Sullenberger, nothing like the "Miracle on the Hudson." The Cessna disintegrated on contact with the jetliner, a Boeing 727-124, which was about 90 times heavier than a two-seater.

Steve Howell, covering a nearby press conference for NBC 7/39, pointed the camera up and captured pieces of the Cessna (and what appeared to be a body) falling to the ground. One of the Cessna's occupants broke through the roof above the front porch of a house in the 3300 block of Polk Street; the other was still in the taxi when it hit the pavement at Polk's 3100 block.

Also nearby was Hans Wendt, San Diego County's chief photographer at the time. He broke PSA 182 banked at a sickening 50 degree angle, with his right wing on fire. (This iconic photo made the front pages of both the San Diego Union and the San Diego Evening Tribune the next day. The Trib's coverage of the disaster, compiled in a matter of hours, won a Pulitzer Prize for local reporting.)

Faa Probing Crash Of Corporate Jet Off Runway At Nas North Island

"Zero," Cusick said. “Because of the way it crashed, it messed up the flight controls. He's lost control."

Underneath the stricken plane, North Park residents prepared for a hot day. It was already 82 degrees at 9am when Cheryl Walker dropped off her 3-year-old son Derek at preschool at Nancy Stout's home.

Without warning, PSA 182 slashed through the roof of a house on Nile Street and exploded at the intersection of Dwight and Nile.

San Diego Airplane Crash

The force of the impact killed everyone aboard the jet. Three jet engines, landing gear, wing sections, body parts, and other debris ejected from the 727 and then rained fire down on Dwight, Nile, and Boundary Streets. Some houses were set on fire; others, including that occupied by Nancy Stout Nursery, were torn apart by shrapnel.

Small Plane Crashes In Neighborhood Near San Diego

Huger, whose home is less than half a block from the crash site, was in the backyard. "I heard the shock," he said. "It looked like a break in the 2v4 board."

Running to his yard, he saw a neighbor's house to the south engulfed in flames. In fact, fires broke out around his house.

About 60 percent of San Diego's fire department units rushed to the scene. The police also arrived, recovering the bodies and fueling the occasional glimmer of hope.

On Límit Street, Officer P.L. Thornton stumbled upon a sedan that crashed as the body flew through the windshield.

San Diego Plane Crash: Small Aircraft Crashes At Montgomery Field In Kearny Mesa

"The glass just exploded and everything inside was covered in glass shards and blood," Thornton told a reporter. “We thought they were all dead.

But when police pulled the torso aside, they found the driver, Mary Fuller of Lakeside, and her infant son. Cut through glass, they bled but lived.

It was Vernon Franck's job to prevent more casualties. With three other Seabees, he traveled from Coronado to North Park and volunteered for his services. Placed at the end of an alley, it was ordered to prevent people from approaching the fires.

San Diego Airplane Crash

"I remember stopping a woman who begged me that her mother's house was on fire," he said. "We saw it roar, fully explode, burst right behind us and you could feel the heat."

Patriot Aircraft - Aircraft manufacturer Patriot Aircraft USA operates the Bibb County Airport under an agreement with the Bibb Airport Authority. In the past few weeks Don and Ron Wade, owners of the operation, have moved from the Bessemer airport. The brothers operated an airplane repair business for several years, before choosing Bibb County Airport to build their new airplane design.

Spokesman Don Wade was interviewed by the Centerville Press, and he wasn't shy about breaking down the design features of the latest aircraft his company has been working on for years. Although the plane that people called the "Cub" looked like an airplane, Wade's plane, called the "Super Patriot," was nothing like the old Cub from which he flew. Grandfather had flown to the Cape [Civil Air]. Patrol] may have returned in the mid-2000s.

Patriot Aircraft

Patriot Aircraft

This aircraft is a "beast" in the modern world of STOL aircraft. It stands for Short Takeoff and Landing and the new Super Patriot can be configured as a competition aircraft for flying enthusiasts who participate in short distance takeoff and landing competitions. If you don't enter the race, your gig will fly well into the countryside and land without an airport or runway. The most adventurous hunters may want to land on sand. And you'll be able to come back from heaven when it's time to go. The idea that the super patriot is carefully crafted.

Blue On Blue! The Story Of The U.s. Navy F/a 18 That Was Shot Down By A U.s. Army Pac 3 Patriot Missile Battery During Oif

With 2 front seats, the fuel-efficient IO-320, 176 HP engine can carry 875 pounds of people, cargo and fuel. This is called useful load, which is a large number for this class of aircraft. Super Patriot is the first small plane, a surveillance plane, that will be able to see the earth in space. The Super Patriot claims an economical top speed of 90 MPH, so if you want to fly cross-country, this might not be the plane for you.

Wade Brothers and Patriot Aircraft USA plans to build and sell Patriot Aircraft [two models] from a new home here at Bibb County Airport. The company is currently working in preparation mode. In a few months they plan to recruit young people who are interested in the career of Aeronautical Technicians (A&P Tech's) to work and train here.

Apart from building new aircraft, the company also repairs damaged aircraft for owners and insurance companies. The company currently has three recovery plans.

This reporter visited the Perry County District Clerk's office on Friday, January 13th and asked to see the grand jury indictment for Albert Turner Jr., and was told there was no record of an indictment, no pending case against Mr. Turner in Perry County. After a decade of building, repairing and restoring Super Cubs and Cubs, the Patriot Aircraft team set out to engineer a Cub that is true to the original while still taking it to the next level.

The Super Patriot combines outstanding design and craftsmanship with innovative additions to enhance practicality, power, and the overall ownership experience.

The popular design and performance of the Cubs began to fade as weight was added to the wing shape found on today's Cubs. We chose a large square wing because of better handling with today's heavier and more powerful engines. This is especially true at high speeds and high temperatures. 4 ailerons and large flaps increase performance.

Patriot Aircraft

From the style of the winning team, to the ergonomics of the fuel selector and the flight experience were the main factors when designing the cockpit. The 4-inch wide room is especially noticeable in the large rear seat, because it can be adjusted and stored under the seats so that passengers are never at a loss for space.

Explainer: What Is The Patriot Missile Defense System?

The combination of the IO 320, Airflow Performance Fuel Injection System, and E-Mags give the Super Patriot some all-new muscle, 176 horsepower without the extra weight. A 100-foot draw and a rate of climb of 2,500 fpm can be easily achieved.

In our decades of ship repair and maintenance we almost always overlook hard to reach areas. Enhanced security translates into seamless access to everything!

Forever in its category, the cab gives every pilot the joy of flying while having the power to provide unparalleled opportunities to explore new frontiers. The Super Patriot is an amazing aircraft model taken to the next level. We will talk about taking you to heaven.

Patrol Aircraft - Turkey continues to use domestically produced maritime patrol aircraft in many regions, including the Black Sea, Aegean Sea, Eastern Mediterranean and Libyan coasts.

The P-235 was produced within the scope of the Meltem-2 project and joined the Turkish Naval Forces inventory in 2014.

The aircraft participated in NATO's Dynamic Manta exercise with US, Spanish, French, German, Canadian, British, Italian and Greek forces.

In addition to the P-235, Turkey also used the TCG Salihreis frigate, the Preveza class TCG 18 Mart frigate and the Gabya class TCG Gaziantep frigate for drilling. TCB 655 Maritime Patrol Aircraft, which completed all its planned sorties, also took part in the exhibition.

Dynamic Manta, an annual advanced surface and anti-submarine warfare exercise, began on February 24 off the Italian island of Sicily and concluded on March 6.

Providing air support for more than four hours in joint exercises with the Italian submarine ITS Todaro, the French frigate FS Provence and the Spanish frigate ESBS Cristobal Colon, the Turkish P-235 then returned to the Naval Air Base Sigonella in Sicily.

The Turkish Navy has six patrol aircraft capable of underwater air sensing, electronic warfare and submarine warfare. They are among the strategic elements of the Turkish Armed Forces (TSK) stationed in the Eastern Mediterranean and Aegean Seas.

The Kawasaki P-1 (formerly P-X, XP-1) is a Japanese maritime patrol aircraft developed and manufactured by Kawasaki Aerospace Company. Unlike many maritime patrol aircraft, which are often conversions of civilian designs, the P-1 is a purpose-built seaplane with no civilian counterpart and was designed for this role from the very beginning. It is the world's first operational aircraft to use an optical flight control system.

The P-1 performed rolling services with the Japan Maritime Self-Defense Force (JMSDF), replacing the P-3C Orion. On March 26, 2013, the JMSDF took delivery of its first two operational P-1 aircraft.

Export customers are also sought after for this strain as part of the overall loss of Japanese military export restrictions.

Patrol Aircraft

Noting that the P-3C fleet had been in service for some time, the JMSDF began searching for a replacement maritime patrol aircraft. Since other similar aircraft produced abroad did not meet the requirements of the JMSDF, it became necessary to develop an Indian aircraft designed for this purpose. Japan's Defse Agcy (JDA) introduced the indigenous development of the P-X maritime patrol aircraft as part of its five-year defense plan in April 2001 - March 2006.

France's Upgraded Atlantique 2s Are More Than Just Maritime Patrol Planes

In 2001, following its previous bid, Kawasaki Aerospace was awarded prime contractor status for the P-X program as well as an accompanying C-X program for a subsequent cargo ship; This selection process has taken place since the previous large-scale domestic development of the aircraft in Japan, nearly 30 years ago.

The P-X shared some components with the CX, identified as the Kawasaki C-2 double ring, which was then the Kawasaki C-1 freighter and another heavily developed aircraft to replace the C-130H Hercules. While the P-X and C-X designs were initially independent, it was decided it would be advantageous to have common tools for both designs.

Common tools include cockpit windows, outer wings, horizontal stabilizers and other systems. Interior common parts include the auxiliary power unit, cockpit panel, flight control system computer, anti-collision lights and shift control module.

Because of the different roles of the two planes, they remain distinctly separate. Sharing development resources has resulted in a significant reduction in overall development costs, including the C-2, which was reported at 345 billion yen in 2007.

Airbus To Produce Spanish C295 Maritime Patrol Aircraft

In addition to a common level with the C-2, a derivative of the proposed P-1 is a civilian aircraft, and the proposed project is often referred to as the Kawasaki YPX.

If development continues, YPX will make extensive use of the P-1's technology and components, such as the wingbox, empnage and fuselage.

In April 2004, JDA completed a successful evaluation of five XF7 research engines, at which point it was considered the only engine candidate for the P-X program.

In May 2005, IHI received a contract to purchase seven additional XF-7 test aircraft from JDA after completing preliminary tests in December 2004, with four of these stations to equip the first flight test aircraft.

The 8:1 bypass ratio of the F7 engine equipped with Full Power Digital Control (FADEC) is reported to be significantly higher than competitors such as the Geral Electric CF34-8E.

In April 2004, Japan and the United States expanded discussions on joint efforts in the P-X and US Navy's Multi-Mission Aircraft (MMA) programs; Options ranged from terminating the P-X program to join a US-led MMA program to incorporating some MMA techniques into P-X to cut costs.

Japan's Ministry of Defense ultimately chose to continue with the P-X program, stating: "There was a possibility that foreign aircraft would not meet the required capability, and there was a possibility that foreign aircraft would not meet the required delivery time ... develop the aircraft domestically."

In addition to the P-1, studies have also been conducted on the use of ship-based UAVs to support naval aviation activities.

Lockheed P 2 Neptune Maritime Patrol Aircraft (le Bourget)

New Zealand was the first country to show the P-1 in what a Japanese official called a "one-on-one collision with a Boeing P-8 patrol aircraft".

The P-1 was shown alongside the C-2 to give New Zealand an advantage in partnership with patrol and transport aircraft.

Japanese officials claimed that the P-1 was a more capable, but more expensive, aircraft than the Boeing P-8 Poseidon; Compared to the P-8, the P-1 has a greater range, a larger bomb locker and was built specifically for maritime patrol duty.

Patrol Aircraft

Prior to 2015, the P-1 was purchased at a typical rate of one or two aircraft deliveries per year; In 2015, this was changed to a bulk order for 20 P-1s as part of a measure to lower unit costs of the aircraft.

As of October 2016, 10 P-1s have been delivered to the JMSDF and 60 or more aircraft have replaced Japan's P-3C fleet; Production will rise to about five per year.

The Kawasaki P-1 is a purpose-built, four-lane maritime patrol aircraft. The P-1 is powered by four IHI F7-10 turboprops under the lowered wings.

The four-axis low-wing loading design adopted in the P-1 results in a flight profile with better maneuverability and stability in low-speed, low-altitude flights, allowing the aircraft to resume its mission on the eve of a single failure. . High bypass converters provide quiet, fuel-efficient operation in addition to increased operational survivability.

The P-1 is equipped with many newly developed technologies and features, especially avionics and mission systems.

One of these key features is the use of the flight control system, which essentially replaces the standard metal wires with fiber optic cables. This has the effect of reducing electromagnetic interference to sensors compared to more common flight control systems. The P-1 is the world's first production aircraft equipped with a flight control system.

Most of the onboard systems such as the auxiliary power unit, boost and pressure control systems, RAM-type wind turbines, air cleaners and avionics are provided by Honeywell, the project's largest non-Japanese supplier.

The P-1 was equipped with a variety of sensors to enable the aircraft to fulfill its primary purpose of detecting submarines and surface ships; These include the Toshiba HPS-106 active electronically scanning array (AESA) radar and Fujitsu HAQ-2 Infrared/Light surface detection systems, which use a total of three antennas to provide 240-degree coverage.

The P-1 has an artificial intelligence (AI) system to assist TACCO's operations; Similar to the SH-60K, the advanced combat guidance system guides the TACCO operator to the optimal flight path to attack the submarine.

Similar in size to the Hawker Sedley Nimrod, the large bomb bay inside the main fuselage contained most of the aircraft's ammunition.

Weapons aboard the P-1 include torpedoes, mines, depth bombs, air-to-surface missiles (such as the US-made Harpoon) or bombs.

Armats are managed by the Store Management System, built by Smith Aerospace, which includes a newly developed Universal Store Control Unit (USCU) capable of holding hundreds of different ammunition, including future ammunition and precision weapons.

Multiple radar warning receivers provide comprehensive missile threat awareness combined with a range of preventative measures.

On August 31, 2007, the Japanese Ministry of Defense announced that it would purchase four airframes. Demand in the fiscal year 2008 budget was 67.9 billion yen (equivalent to 69.9 billion yen or US$641.18 million in 2019)

In 2013, the ministry ordered two units for 44.5 billion yen. These P-1 class aircraft are reported to have greater sensing/discrimination capabilities, flight performance, information processing capability and attack capabilities as their successor.
